Pretty good kit from the way he described it. | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,988 Sir Searchalot | Sir Searchalot Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,988 | I did a tip on TF that may or may not help. | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 Bubba - Curmudgeon | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 | | | | | Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 32 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Feb 2011 Posts: 32 | Hello guys, Thanks for the ideas and feed-back. I'm not sure which part you're in, but you have two local sources you can also check out. One is steel rubber. They are pretty much the leader IMO for weather stripping and window parts, however they are expensive. Also, Clester's may have a source as well. walking Steelrubber's warehouse is pretty neat http://clestersauto.com/default.aspxhttp://steelerubber.com/

See my pictures of the side glass on my photobucket. I had a local glass guy cut a one piece glass from a template I made. He caters to vintage cars and he used a rubber moulding seal that fit around seam in the window and had a rubber insert that held it inplace. If you need further pictures send me a PM and I will shoot some for you.

They're not designed for the two piece or self-sealing weatherstripping on the pinch weld.
This does allow you to use the outer garnish(if you have it), and maintain a more original look though.

Anyone know ? | | | | Joined: Oct 2004 Posts: 1,781 Master Gabster | Master Gabster Joined: Oct 2004 Posts: 1,781 | Tony, I don't see why not. The drain system is designed (poorly) to remove water that accumulates in the slider window channels. Drain Unfortunately they did not figure in leaves and dirt, this all goes into a short hose that drops it into the bottom sheet metal. When the debris sits for awhile it ends up clogging the small drain hole in the sheet metal, hence we get lots of rust out in these areas. There are no other drain systems that use this channel, so closing it up and sealing it will not be an issue. | | | | Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 256 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 256 | Tony, I don't see why not. Are there any issues if those channels are gotten rid of? Or if anyone else knows? Thank you.

My guess is that rust-out around the base of those windows was/is due to plugged drain holes (no drainage). I also make sure the exit "holes" at the bottom of the insides remain clear for full/final drainage. other recent post on this topic
