I am refering to the casting to adapter connection. The sealant will have to hold up to gasoline. I do not like to use teflon tape.
JB | | | | | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 1,001 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 1,001 | You are right not to use teflon tape as it does not hold up to gasoline. I believe plumbers "pipe dope" thread sealant will work. Just ensure you go sparingly so that none of it gets in the line.
But, sealant on the threads of a flared fitting really doesn't do much as the line will leak between the line and "nut"

I like to the "PTFE" (teflon) brush-on paste sparingly on pipe-thread fittings ONLY, and it's a good idea to leave the first couple of threads on the male fitting uncoated to be sure none of it gets into the fuel stream.
