For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2011 Posts: 55 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2011 Posts: 55 | I have a 51 1/2 ton it came with no door handles or lock, it has shaved door handles. They welded up the holes for the handle and lock. How hard would it be to put back my door handles. Could I just drill out where they welded up the holes and put back my door handles. Is it that simple or is their more to it. Please help thanks | | | | | Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 239 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 239 | My '55 1st series also had shaved exterior door handles. They did not do a good job welding the holes. I drilled the hole and used a grinder for finishing the hole requirements. Turned out great. I now have the original exterior door handles on the truck. Good luck.
