The original knobs are broken on the window crank handles of my '41 pickup. I want to replace them, but I'm not sure how to get the old knobs off. I figured there would be a screw from the back, but no. Are they pressed on, or is there another secret to doing this?

If a 41 is anything like a 47-54,,,, those knobs are pressed on and the shaft is peened over. Theyre not gonna come off without ruining them.
Try "chevs of the '40's"
Good Luck,

You can buy the new knobs at Chevs of the 40s. I just need to know the proper way to get the old knobs off. Maybe drill them?

Since the old knobs are broken, how about just cutting them with a cut-off wheel? I would think drilling would just get the shaft spinning and maybe warble out the parts you want to reuse.
