I had the radiator cap off and noticed a lot of air bubbles in the radiator. Air must be getting into the system somewhere. Does anyone have advice on how I can pinpoint where the cause of the leak is located? | | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 4,962 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 4,962 | Is it losing coolant? It can be anything from a head gasket to a cracked head to a water pump sucking air. Do you have a thermostat in it. Running without a thermostat can sometimes churn things up to where it looks like bubbles. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | ..do you know a friend that can put a vacuum test on it? | | | | | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 301 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 301 | If you have the attachment to blow each cylinder up with compressed air it will point towards a head gasket or cracked head issue. It will leak air into the anti freeze and bubble up through the radiator. You will probably hear the bubbling too. I know I did!
