Mind you it came off an old farm. I agreed to do the job, slid the tranny back, dropped the main caps off and much to my surprise found that the block was babbit while the caps were inserts?!?! Craziest thing I saw, but it works, the truck is still going strong and its been 20 years since I did the rear mainseal and clutch.
In such a khonstant state of khaos I dont know what project to work on first.

What part of the block was babbit?
Which caps were insert (rod bearings, presumably)?

All the inserts were in the caps, both main and rods. I dont even know if it was the original engine or not, this old truck had been around. I could have it all backwards and it was the caps that were all poured, but it sure did look like somebody put a crank kit in it and put all insert caps on, doing a "quick" in truck bottom end rebuild.
