old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 9 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 9 | Hey guys, Im new to trucks and recently acquired a 64 C10.
Ive got the truck stripped down to the frame. I already have the engine and tranny that are going in the truck. Theres just one part that Im confused on after searching around.
I guess Ill start with what I want my truck to be when its finished. I want a badass truck! I kind of want to go pro-street, just not over the top, like I still want to be able to drive to meets and such. Reasonably wide rear tires, dropped low, looking mean kind of truck.
Now the Suspension and Chassis on these trucks, where Im slightly confused.
Why do some people get an S10 frame?
Do people airbag their stock c10 frames? Will I be able to go lower on airbags than CPP's 3/5 coil/spring drop? (On a stock c10 frame)
I live in NY, so obviously I dont want my truck to be dragging along the pavement, but I do want it to look real sporty and mean with a nice stance to it.
Any response are greatly appreciated! -Pete | | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 1,756 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 1,756 | Air bags are the best of both worlds, Low at a show and high for cruising. You did a great job with it!
If I had to show you a pic of how I wanted the stance of my truck to be, that would be it.
Now, are you dropped on the bags in the pic? Or is that how your truck would be driving?
And you mentioned you had a 72 frame on the front? Was that to go lower?
And thank you for the response! | | |
