Hey guys, is there anything such as just a "bolt on" IFS for a 57 3100 series; or do will I have to do fab. and welding? Also, can someone tell me what donor trucks I can use for the conversion, because I cant afford to buy a new kit, like Mustang II? I'm not the greatest welder, so doing a clip is out. Thanks.

Any IFS for the Task Force trucks will require fabrication and welding. Closest to a "bolt in" will be the '73-'87 Chevy full size truck, as the crossmember for suspension can be taken out of the donor truck in one peice. it would need narrowed to fit the TF chassis, plue you would need to fabricate steering box and idler arm mounts.

The 73-87 is not wide enough for a Task Force, you might be able to use one from a full size van.I have one from a 78 pickup under my 48.I had to use a 3/4 in. spacer on each side.I made a template of the bolt holes from the 78 and transfered them to the 48.

The '73-'87 is 5" wider than the Task Force.
