For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,438 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,438 | That is an interesting brochure. Not a chrome grille, bumper or hubcap in the bunch. I'm guessing this brochure must have been made up in '53 when war restrictions were still in effect.
Does anyone know when the chrome grilles became available again? | | | | | Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 433 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 433 | I have seen the same one on Tim's site... Although, I do like kcsa75's link... Download size is only 18M... I like seeing them as working trucks...

Chrome grills, hubcaps, and bumpers became available in 1954, RPO-393 Chrome Equipment (but, this option is not shown in the 1954 Truck Data Book that came out in June 1953). It is shown in 1954 TRBs that came out in late 1954).
The pages on my website are sized to download quickly. There is a button on each page to download a larger version of each image.

Is the driver of the COE waving hello or signaling a right hand turn? Have you noticed how many trucks have copied design elements from the bold 1954 grill - including the late model Dodge pick ups?

Page 20- that flat bed is surrounded by a LOT of chickens! I wonder what they are doing with it parked out there...
