| | | | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 946 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 946 | I replaced the rear axle pinion seal on my truck and figured while I was under there I should tighten up every bolt. Well, glad I did because one of the drive shafts (I have 3) had very loose nuts. Same with some of the exhaust bolts. So a word to the wise, tighten those bolts every once and awhile!
Do you guys use lock-tight to keep bolts in place? I had a '63 Land rover that would loosen the driveshaft to joint connecting bolts every 4000 miles. It wasn't a problem, as before I could drive that far, I'd be underneath the truck fixing something else and snug them up on the way by. | | |
