Can anyone tell me where this part goes? I have looked though the assembly manual two times and cannot locate it.

1959 3100 short bed.

best to skip calling your truck an Apache here, which could be a 1/2T long or short, a 3/4T or a 1T [58-62], and use the year instead

aside from the fact that the assembly manual was printed in 55 so has nothing that's specific to an "Apache" of any year, that doesn't look like anything I've seen on a 58 1/2T, might be a brace a PO added somewhere? maybe you have a 3/4T or 1T with the driveshaft hand brake? maybe it was something found loose when you got the truck?

Sorry Bill, it is a 59 3100 short bed.
I think the part is factory and I can remember unbolting it but for the life of me I can't remember where. Maybe on the box??

I think it was part of the hardware that mounted the spare tire bracket to the bed.

I agree with Bob Giles. That is one of the brackets used on the spare tire side mount.

Look at this tech tip. I think it is the "Right Outside Angle," but a slightly different style. See if it fits.
