It is a T50. Yes I had to cut a hole in front/under the seat but I bolted a Hurst bench shifter to it. The tran came out of a Sunfire and bolts up like a saganaw. I was looking for a S10 T5 82-88 but they don't look like they bolt up. Do you have to get an adapter for the bell housing? T5 and T50 are differant from what I can see. I know first hand behind a 3.8 V6 they were marginal, and with a built V6 they usually were short lived.
The other thing I didnt like was the shift pattern on the T50's
