I am starting to put back together my 49 chevy 5 window P/U. I have a complete set of wiring that I bought with the truck it came in pieces. I had all of the body pieces painted and have the cab installed on the frame. Now want to start wiring but it would help if I had some pictures of what the wiring looks like under the hood. Does anyone have any pictures like this? I do have a wiring diagram and wire numbers that came with the wiring.

Thanks

Where in Illinois are you located Bennie? If you're anywhere around Sandwich I'd take a
drive over and you could look at my '50 which should be quite similar.
It’s pretty hard to show all the wiring under the hood but here are a few pictures:

The '49 will be a little different. It'll have what, 5 fuses? Here are some pictures of my '49 before I stared work on it. I can take some more if you want.

Pay no attention to my enormous voltage regulator, its some sort of industrial generic replacement (along with my FoMoCo generator).

Hope this helps.

Hi Denny,

I live in South Elgin which is not far from you. If you give me your address and phone number I would love to take a drive on a weekend and look at your truck. I loved the pictures you sent I was wondering how the stop light switch mounted. on the clutch picture is that a rubber bumper to keep from hitting the firewall? My e-mail is [email protected] and my cell phone is 847-899-2585 look forward to hearing from you

I'm in Canada, on Vancouver Island. I think there are some illustrations of the wiring harness in the shop manual as well. It's pretty straight forward, but slow and methodical process.
