thinking about putting split headers on my 235, but heard that some interfere with the stock steering box. any input would help as to type or manufacture. 53 3100

Tell us about the headers you are considering. Then, people can tell you if they have seen that set-up work.

I do not recall seeing people posting bad experiences with split headers from parts vendors.

My personal opinion would be the clifford intake and headers, but since I have so much time and money into the set up I have now I can't go there, at least with this engine.

i have a fenton 2x1 with fenton headers. no issues with clearance. are you saying since you have so much money into the engine now, that you cant afford headers/aftermarket intake? speedway makes some cheapo steel headers for like 130 bucks, but if you hold out and look, you can find cast iron ones for around 100 bucks used. that's what i picked mine up for. good luck -DVZ

If you are also asking about intakes manifolds, there are multi-carb intake manifolds that interfere with the Advance-Design steering column (and 3-speed column-shift linkages).
