I'm wondering if I need those bed to frame rubber mounting pads? I read a thread on another forum and it looked like the opinions were leaning against using them. One of the main reasons was that they threw off the alignment of the bed and cab. I don't remember there being any pads when I removed the bed.
All opinions and experience welcome!

As far as alignment of the bed, that is done prior to tightening up the bed frame bolts (6) for the short bed. Even if its a long bed, your only talking about $8-10 for the pads. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 1,552 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 1,552 | Although not original, the bed cross sill-to-frame perches are a good idea. As stated above, it avoids the metal-to-metal contact. At 1/8" thick, the bed-to-cab alignment, is insignificantly effected.
Also, there is some flexibility in the elevation & alignment of the cab, so that is an option, when trying to get body-lines in order.

Hopefully when I have family over on Thanksgiving I'll enlist a couple of brothers and brothers-in-law to help put it back on the frame.
