You will still need to crank it, preferably with the remote starter tool we discussed earlier. You will only see the spark when the engine is cranking.

I don't think that wiring the coil backward will kill it but I am not certain. I do know that it will not work while wired backward.

Don't get discouraged, I feel we are close to getting this one to run. Do you have anybody that can take a movie of what you are doing? I will be off to go hunting tomorrow so I won't be on stovebolt for a few days. I bet you have it running by the time I get back.

I have found a couple of wiring diagrams on the internet. I do appear to have things wired correctly. Rock Auto has a 1966 Chevrolet Truck Wiring Diagram book for $8.26. Does anyone know if this would cover the Suburban Carryall? I don't think there are many differences up front between a C10 and a Suburban.

Rock Auto also has a 1966 Chevrolet Truck Shop Manual Supplement for $28.79. Would this be better than the Motors Auto Repair Manual 1969 that I'm currently using?

And what about HotRod? Did he decide Mike wasn't worth any more help? Or did a bunch of Stovebolters around Dallas come to Mikes Rescue???

I was the camp cook and my nephew was the hunter. He did get his first deer a little spike buck, and was elated. MikeR started a couple different threads and I don't know if he got it running or what. The later posts left me somewhat confused.

There's too many cooks in this kitchen.
