If you have the data plate with the unit serial number on it, post that number and we'll try to help. On my '38 the unit serial number is 5HB05 then the sequential number showing the order it was built in. The 5HB05 in my case shows it was built in Kansas City (5) is a 1938 Master (HB) and was built in May of 1938 (05). Your numbers of course will differ but will help decode your truck.

'37 GMC T-18 w/ DD 4-53T, RTO-610, 6231 aux., '95 GMC running gear, full disc brakes, power steering, 22.5 wheels and tires.
'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

'39 has round gauges, no parking lights on fenders.
'40 has rectangular gauge package, park lights on fenders
41 - 46 has " waterfall " grille, headlights mounted on fenders | | |
