I've just bought a '69 C-10 like the one my dad had when I was a kid. The one obvious difference is the manual choke knob on the dash just to the left of the radio. My dad's truck did not have this. Can this be original from the factory, or was it definitely added by a previous owner?

Manual choke came with some engines.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

Wrenchbender, do you think this choke knob and position looks factory?

Hey jdarren, That is NOT the original location for the choke. Although manual chokes were available in some cases, they were found below the wiper switch in the instrument cluster. If you happen to remove the instrument panel, you'll see the choke mount. I have a '71 C-10 and a '69 C-20, so I've been there.

Best wishes,

Les

jdarren,

I looked at your pictures and that is one NICE '69! Take good care of it, ones like that are hard to find! I wish ANY truck that I'd bought was that good. Keep us posted the upgrades.

Best wishes,

Les
