Hey bolters - Am pulling apart my 1950 3800 and it has one of those spotlights on it (like you'd see on a police car). It looks to be original, has a big GM logo stamped on the lens reflector. Problem is I can't get the darn thing out. Was able to get the handle and interior rotation mechanism off, but can't get the outer portion to come off. I pulled the 2 screws off of the mount plate, still won't budge.
Anyone familiar with these and how to take them off? Any secrets? I'd love to keep it, it is pretty cool looking.

I hope so. I pulled and pulled yesterday, made absolutely no progess.

While I'm on the topic - anyone know where I can get repair parts for the light? The handle is missing, I'd like to replace it with one that appears original to the year.

Think I found a handle at a joint called Unity

though I'm not sure if this is the correct style, it looks fiftyish.

That looks like what came on them.

Please check with local law enforcement-- many states have banned spotlights but you may be OK if it isn't operational.Sorry but I don't know the situation in Minn. but it is worth checking.
