| | | | Joined: Oct 2008 Posts: 121 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2008 Posts: 121 | I replaced the SM420 in my 55 with a S10 T5 and through the tech pages followed the tutorial by "steppenwood" on shortening the throw. Excellent tech tip and worth the effort. I used the original arm from my 55 and welded onto the S10 shifter assy for an original look.

I added sleeve inserts from round stock to prevent the bolts from crushing the adapter. Then I cut the stick off of an old SM420 and welded 2 thick 14mm nuts to the bottom so I could screw it on and off of the T5 shifter. The mod works great and keeps the throw short. Looks good too. | | |
