I bought a new spring for this and have now lost it for the second time. This time for good. How do you put these on so they will stay? Obviously I'm not getting them tight enough so it will stay. I'm afraid if I get it too tight it won't work. Which way do you put it on and which way do you 'wind' it to make it work? If its in far enough it will be parallel to the peg for the hook end of the spring. When installed it should hold light pressure on the plate to the closed position. It is easier if you get the spring put into the slot first, then use a needle nose pliers and put the hook onto the peg. | | | | Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 160 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 160 | After the spring is installed pinch the end of the shaft together with a pair of pliers. | | |
