The door is so close it's removing paint. I also have to slam it at least 2 times to close. Do I need shimson the cab side or is it something else?

Have a look in the shop manual.

The passenger door was too-close to the cowl on my panel, it would bind. I was able to just loosen the hinge bolt on the door, and slide the door back a little. Works fine now, but I'm no bogyman, that might not be how you are supposed to do it. I stuck some blocks under the door to hold it up, as I figured without that it would surely sag down.

Better than my story.. The other weekend I noticed the fender piece (cowl?) near the door was warped outwards because the bondo was falling outward. I was so bad that it was stopping the door from opening, but I was able to just push the panel in with my foot as I opened the door. Then I go home a few weeks later to find that my Dad didnt see it and opened the door, peeling back some of the metal in the fender...

Moral of the story: adjust that door before you need a new fender all of a sudden!

Bad rust and worse wiring, but so much fun.
