I assume there is no problem keeping the stock brakes, that is our plan at this point. We are installing new wheel cylinders at each wheel and a brand new master cylinder, and replacing brake line where needed. Are there any other components that should be replaced?

We decided yesterday that we were going to do a full frame off restoration, Got the cab off the truck as well as the front fenders, grille, splash pan, filler panel, running boards.

Since everything is off the frame at this point, Except the engine, transmission what work would you bolters' recommend that we do while we are in such a stripped down stage?

We plan on redoing brakes, cleaning everything really well, Sanding and priming/undercoating the frame rails and then starting reassembly

Also is there a way to remove the steering column? We pulled the cab off the frame and we weren't sure how to get the column off. We would like to pull the column before we reinstall the cab.

Thanks for all your help!!!

"... and replacing brake line where needed. Are there any other components that should be replaced?"

All the brake lines as well as hoses need to be replaced.

"We would like to pull the column before we reinstall the cab."

The steering box and column come off as a unit. I can't imagine pulling a cab with it in place. Bet that was fun.

Fuel line, brake line, brake hoses, cab mounts, bed mounts, core support mounts, engine mounts, trans mount, shifter bushings. Check the park brake lever, rod and cables, replace the wires going to the back, check the exhaust hangers and pipe, check the springs, shackles, all the steering, etc...................

Pretty much check everything you can see!
