I want to get a 1955 Chevy 6400 2-ton 2nd series and add a Dodge 12-valve cummins and want to install power steering in the original Chevy steering column. How would I go about doing this after I get the parts from the donor truck? Anything is helpful.

P.S,
The trucks pics, current state, my plans for it's future, and more detailed plans are in my posts and is called fixing the family truck.

We had six '55 Chevy COE fire engines and all came with the Buick nailhead 322's in them from the factory and they did have Power Steering. When we'd get parts we'd use the Factory Shop manual and order from our local Parts supplier. I did note that more than once his supplier was getting those parts from a Buick dealer in an adjacent large town. We ran those rigs for years and they did hold their own. When the 348 truck engines showed in 1958 we got two of those also. The '55's would run the legs off those GM truck version 348's.

The power steering used on the big Chevy TF trucks is the same basic set up as used on the cars and light duty trucks, only bigger. The pump is mounted to the back of the generater, the actuation valve is on the drag link and there is a cylinder attached to the frame and tie rod. Not true power steering, it's power assist.
