What Hastings sent only have three rings: two rails and a flex ring (zig zag metal ring). Has the design changed? I checked their application list and the part number is correct. It was a three piece in the rings that I took out and my kit from NAPA came with a three piece oil ring. Have you pulled a piston and removed rings yet to see what you had?

Early oil rings were single-piece castings, which were later replaced by multi-piece steel rings. The oil ring setup with a spacer behind the expander was found to be an unnecessarily complicated design, and it was phased out. Just be sure to stagger the ends of all the pieces, and don't let the ends of the expander overlap as you're installing the scraper rails, and you'll be in good shape.
