62 columm with another year harness.
Questions:

Do you connect the White from the columm to the white from the same harness the rest of the columm wires are in? (mine had spade lugs just want to make sure).

3 unidentified wires, One green with male spade lug with nylon colored cover?

Grey or tan with black connector

white with black connector

They all come from the harness at the same point as the columm wires, but are separate from the columm wires.

I don't know about a 62 but here is the color code GM has used for years: light blue--left front T/S, dark blue--right front T/S, yellow--left rear T/S, green--right rear T/S, white--brake light feed, black--horn, purple--12v feed. On unknown columns you have to find the 12v feed and then experiment with what happens when you move the T/S lever to it's different positions. A second wire when voltage is applied will cause both the R&L rear T/S wire to light the test light when the t/s lever is centered--this is the brake light feed wire from the brake light switch. With a test light and 12v jumper probe one should be able to figure out ANY column in 30 minutes.

Chevrolet usually uses green for the water temp sender and the other pair sound like they go to an ammeter. I don't know on a '62, but that is how they usually are on ''67 - '72 gauge dash trucks. The "idiot light dash" is different. All three of these wires would go to the big plug that plugs into the instrument cluster, so something has been changed somewhere.

I went back and looked at your flickr picture again. You have a bunch of accessory wires there. the Green doesn't look factory, so it could be anything. The other two can be anything, but they do look factory. L

they are all factory, they exit the harness at the same spot the ribbon does for the columm, but they are seperate from the main harness out.
