Here is a pic http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t72/jss1956/DSCN1562.jpgWhen I push the button the horn sounds terrible. I mean it definitely sounds like a serious case of strep throat. Any idea of what to do next? Is there an adjustment or a place whre I can give 'em a cough drop? Seriously, it sounds pretty bad. Suggestions?

I cleaned it up and adjusted it... I checked mine with a wires directly from the battery as I have not wired it in the steering column yet... Also check for good contact on your horn button...

jss1956's horn is the correct single horn used on 47-52 trucks.
healingbear's horn was used as single horn in 1953-1955st; and, was one of the accessory dual-horns sold by GM from 47-55.
I think that a horn relay was not used with single horns until 1953; but, a horn relay came with the dual horn set (high-note and low-note clamshell horns) in earlier years.
