I am in the same situation as you and it looks like I will need to move the crossmember back as far as possible in order to install a tank of any size.

It has an under bed gas tank--probably gone on the bottom (I didn't look) that I can get the dimensions off of. What I did notice is that it didn't seem as deep but was longer than one on a 1/2T.

Mickster. Is your s-10 tank for any specific year? Does it mount in back or along side your frame?
I am looking for a frame mount tank to put in the original location on my 48.
