Welcome to the 'bolt. There have been a ton of threads on under/between frame tanks. If you use the search function at the top of the page you'll find hours of informative reading. click

Remember Mikester your frame is more narrow than the 3100 models and your crossmember is different and in a different position. I am in the same situation as you and it looks like I will need to move the crossmember back as far as possible in order to install a tank of any size.

I bought a 47 3/4T at an auction about a month ago, mainly because it had the stainless windshield and side window trim. It has an under bed gas tank--probably gone on the bottom (I didn't look) that I can get the dimensions off of. What I did notice is that it didn't seem as deep but was longer than one on a 1/2T.

Jim. Where did you buy your gas tank from?

Mickster. Is your s-10 tank for any specific year? Does it mount in back or along side your frame?

I am looking for a frame mount tank to put in the original location on my 48.

TIA
