It's a relatively cheap item (especially if your pressure plate is good). It's a lot easier to replace it now than later. I just bought a new one for the '51 (with a '54-up clutch). The whole kit cost a little less than $115. It even came with an alignment tool.

If you replace whole assembly get a new matched set. The remans are very inconsistant. Dont foget the pilot bearing.
