It has a two barrel WGD Carter that is missing the Choke pullback linkage. Have not had any success in locating one. So I was going to attempt to make one? I need the length measurements for this linkage Are any of you guys using this Carburetor? TAG# #4479S it is a manual choke with a four bolt spread bore on the intake. Thanks, Any help would be appreciated Barry

Excellent carburetors, but the replacements used different parts than Carter's O.E. units. Even repair kits for the replacements are pricey.
I don't see anything missing in the picture; what part do you need?

I was hoping I could buy one from someone or a Whole carburetor for spare parts. Thanks, Barry

You have three options:
(A) Look for a junk 4779s to rob parts (this is the first one I have seen in 40 years, they are not real common).
(B) Take the assembled carb with to you to swap meets and look for other WGD carbs (used on several 1950's vehicles) and hope the linkage is the same.
(C) Fabricate the piece. You have a good picture for length. Find a slightly longer piece of linkage the proper diameter from a junk carb; and bend it in the center. The angle of the bend will allow you to adjust the length until you get it right.
