Or do all truck engines have solid lifters. The engine decoded as a 54 235 3600 with a hydramatic?

A Jerry posted above, all Powerglide-equipped cars had 235 engines with hydraulic lifters, except for the 1953-55 Corvette 235 engines, which had solid lifters (and the 2-speed Powerglide transmission).
Also, all 235 car engines from 1956 onwards used hydraulic lifters.
