Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2009 Posts: 107 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2009 Posts: 107 | Hello all, I just purchased a second 52 Chevy 3100 series. The vacum wiper motor was replaced with an electric one. However, it does not work well. It turns on but the blades only go about 3 to 4 inches across the windshield and then when I turn them off they stay up on the windshield. Any thoughts on how to fix this? It makes driving in the rain a challange :-).
I have thought about taking the original arm braket off the old one and putting onto the new one to see if that would help.
Thanks in advance for the help!

I still have a minor problem with the stop position on the passenger side though. | | | | | Joined: May 2009 Posts: 107 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2009 Posts: 107 | All, Sorry for the confusion but, regarding the original arm bracket, I was talking about the bar that is welded to the vacuum motor itself. The arms attached to the original wipers are still in place.

I also installed the electric motor, using the original arms. I drilled a new hole half an inch short of where the long arm (right side) goes into the wiper. I carefully pounded back the peined end and moved it to the new hole. (The problem, in my opinion is the electric wiper unit, if you hold it beside the original vacuum unit, you will see that the arms are a bit longer) | | | | | Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 9,115 | Leo, where did you get your electric motor. I ask because I understand that there are two models, one which interferes with the space the radio takes up.
