I have a 52 chevrolet 3600. I was going to replace the master cylinder and wheel cylinders. The 3/4 ton 52 parts are almost double the cost a lot of places then the same truck of different years. Why is this? If Im not going to tow anything. Will the half ton parts bolt up or is this a terrible idea? I only need this to work for a short time a year or so. Until I get the truck into my garage to tear it apart to start the resto.

That would be a bad idea and probably wouldn't work. The market for the larger truck parts is smaller and there is less competition.

after the restoration I plan on disc brakes in the front. I want to go with a new suspension in the front.

52 was the last year for the huck brakes on the 3/4 ton models. The parts for those are rare & expensive. Try to rebuild the cyls. you have. Hone them out & if there is no pits in the surface that the cups contact they should work OK. You could get the brakes off a 53 up & change it over but that would take a lot of parts sqrounging.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.
