Awhile ago, i noticed that my radiator was leaking badly as soon as the truck warmed up. I took radiator to radiator shop and had it cleaned and there were no leaks at all. Put a new thermostat in as well. if you check the level when it's up to normal temp, it should still be at least an inch or 2 down from the fill neck

If the kids ask you are making thermostat soup for supper.

or water coming out of the tail pipe, it has to be going some where...and if the rad goes dry I would think the temp for sure would go above normal, like hot

to boil out and make the rad dry... the temp gauge should have
warned of that by being really hot...
glad that is all to it though...
