I want to put a tonneau cover on the bed of my 55 series II, lwb / stepside model 3200, pickup.
Dealer says I need a 97" long model.
When I measure the inside dimension of the box (front to back) I have 88.5". Now they are suggesting that maybe someone put a different box on my truck.
Who's right? As far as I can tell, my pickup is all original. It's only got 76,000 miles on it.

THE DEALER SAYS THAT 97" SHOULD BE THE BED LENGTH INSIDE THE BOX. YOUR "SEE HERE" SAYS 90" IS CORRECT:
MY 88.5" MEASUREMENT WAS AT THE TOP OF THE BED SIDE PANEL. IF I MEASURE AT THE FLOOR, I'LL PROBABLY COME IN AT 90".

Do what Grigg sez. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 406 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2005 Posts: 406 | The board kits we sell for that model would have 89" long boards and strips, add an inch for the rear sill and the inside length would be 90". 97" length boards did not come along until 1957 model. As was mentioned above, just make sure the cover fits your bed before you buy.
