Just looking for some advice on what type of motor oil to use in my 1949 Chevy pick up with the original 216 engine. Thanks

20W or 30W are both good on the older engines depending on the tempeture.
Do a search on motor oils and you'll find more then you want to know. It is a very old topic here and has recent updates..


ps. this question is one that gets tons of replies because everyone has their own favorite brand and experience.

For what it's worth, I have been running 10W-30 in my '51 suburban for the last 38 years. Runs great.
