I think my buddy said we would have to cut about 1 1/2 " off the end pieces that go on the frame and some off the tube crossmember part. Don't want to cut and mess things up. Also it looks like the crossmember is going to have to go just about over the axel. Sound right? Thanks....Virg | | |

You should be able to just trim a little off the crossmember part to give you enough play to get it between the rails. But then again I may be mistaken. | | |

I have a tubular engine crossmember being delivered here next week to replace my front mount setup on my SBC so I'll be able to let you know for sure probably mid-week on what I see firsthand putting it in. | | |

After fitting everything I drilled holes through the ends & crossmember & bolted them together. If you weld them you will not be able to remove it.

Also, on one side the exhaust manifold exits to the front and on the other side it exits to the rear. I would guess that the arrangement is different from the original 283 exhaust? | | |

I put my crossmember in today. I had to take 3.5" of each side of the crossmember and a tad over 2" off each of the end pieces to stop it from butting up against the curve.. | | |
