Doing lots of research and have been reading all I can find relating to a T5 swap and still have some questions. I have a 55 3100 with a 235, factory 4 speed and 4:11 rear. What T5 will work the best? I have a 90 S10 with the 4.03 1st gear, 0.86 5th for a swap. Will this be ok or should I look at a 85-89 with the 3.76 1st and .72 5th or a Camaro V8/V6 to do a front shift conversion with the S10 parts?

The mid 80s S-10 is very common & good. It has .072 o-drive. It has the mechanical speedo. Most 88 & all after theat had the elec. speedo drive & most had the >086 o-drive which is not good with 4.11 rear end. Look on the tag 1352-145 is the best one to use.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

Thanks and managed to find a pair of them, 145`s, last week. Also bought a spacer so I don`t have to trim the input shaft or retainer thus allowing an easy replace if I have to swap it out.

You might want to pick up a driveshaft from a short bed mid 80's S10 to give you the front slip yoke for the t5. On my 54 conversion with a 145 t5 box to a Camaro (88) diff, the driveshaft was a perfect fit. You might get lucky......
