Steering interference is definitely an issue. Moving the box out away from the frame is one approach. Some specific exhaust manifolds are said to work but I've never tested that. The rams horn manifolds I expect you have aren't likely to clear.
The S-10 year should be a workable option. The stock rear will not be.
You can buy engine and transmission crossmembers that should simplify the swap.
Make sure your brakes will stop it!

Most the returns will be people identifying the problem.

I think that the ram horns will work it's what Chevy used in the Taskforce trucks. They should exit just in front of your steering box. | | |
