What are the causes for this? | | | | | Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 1,418 ODSS Lawman | | ODSS Lawman Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 1,418 | There are a few answers we need to help determine your issue.
1. Does it smoke only at start up? 2. Does it smoke only we you let off the gas? 3. What color is the smoke? Black? Grey? White? 4. Odor?

The carburetor is flooding, probably from a piece of trash under the needle valve. A leaky float that is partly filled with fuel will also cause flooding. The engine is probably difficult to keep running at idle, right? Blue smoke is oil, and white smoke is coolant. You probably need to give the carburetor a good cleanout, and install a good-quality inline fuel filter between the fuel pump and the carburetor. Jerry
