I installed a set in my 54/235/3100 about a month ago. since then i have run 4 tanks of gas through it and have consistently gotten at least 3mpg more that is a 25% increase. i keep records of mileage on all my vehicles have for more that 50 years. some one made fun of me for spending the extra money but i think it was worth it. the miles were in town and suburban driving never over 45mph.

ive always been fond of the bosh platinum plus ive seen fuel savings as well. may try the e-3 too. never hurts to try new things

I've heard similar results with the E3 plugs. I think it's because the iridium electrode gets super hot.I didn't even know they were available for an old bolt. Is your ignition system upgraded at all? Also, do you have hardened valve seats?

Those things sound like a P.T. Barnum Special. I'd like to see a 3-month gas mileage record, instead of a couple of tankfuls. Over the past 50 years, I can't count the number of gimmick spark plugs that have come and gone. I guess there's enough suckers out there to keep them in business.

With all the pressure on the auto industry to increase their (CAFE) corporate average fuel economy it seems like they would jump on something like this if it produced those kind of results in modern vehicles. They are making those kind of claims on the TV shows they advertise on.

I think anytime you do a tune up and change plugs, you're going to see some added fuel economy, even with standard old copper core plugs. I did a basic tune up on my 96 olds cutlass and went from 26 mpg to 30. I don't know about the 25% but I'm willing to bet he is driving with a little lighter foot being that he is testing his fuel economy.

What was the Part number for your plug? Not sure if Ill try it. But if over time you do have the same results I may consider. I am with hotrod lincoln on this one. But if you can prove it to me I may try it.

As Jerry mentioned, there have been numerous "performance" spark plugs on the market (J.C. Whitney used to introduce a "new" one almost every year).

Many of these plugs received "rave" reviews from individuals that actually did receive the increase (since they did a tune-up at the same time as installing the plugs).

As Chuck mentioned, with the CAFE pressure, if they really worked; EVERY new vehicle would come with them. I can never remember any of the manufacturers that even offered any of these so-called performance plugs as an option.

There have been several tests done over the years by third party testers. None of the tests that I have read have showed improvement, and most showed less performance than the more well-known brands.

That company for sure is spending a lot of money promoting them. You'll find them in nearly every racing organization in the US whether straight line or roundy round. The whole idea of being "green" and fuel efficient is popular these days.It's a good way to sell them, even if their promo is suspect.

That's like the oil companies who pay to get their names on the side of the car, while everybody in the pits is using something else in their engines. I'd be VERY surprised to find those plugs actually used by professional engine builders, regardless of how much the company paid for the name on the car! How much STP do you really think Andy Granatelli put in his Indy car engines?
