on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2010 Posts: 85 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: May 2010 Posts: 85 | are the original tail lights round or more rectangle shaped? I'm looking around and seeing web pages that show both as being accurate for a 52 chevy. little confused here. the rectangle lights have the polished bezel. the circular lights do not have a bezel. just a solid red lense that you screw into the housing.

All trucks had only one light on the driver's side until somewhere around the late 60's or early 70's I believe.

Obviously they need 2 tail lights. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | There were no standard equipment dual tail lights during Advance-Design years (1947-1955).
It looks like RPO 249 (Regular Production Option - factory installed option) dual tail lamps were available from 1950 onwards only on/for Advance-Design panel-body trucks.
It looks like accessory (dealer or customer installed) GM dual-filament right-hand tail/stop lamps were available all Advance-Design years (this most likely matched the stock left-hand tail/stop lamp).
Accessory (dealer or customer installed) truck directional signals kits were available from at least 1949-1955st. However, through 1953, the dual rear signal lamps were in addition to the different-shaped single tail/stop lamp.
