HI all,

Looking for some info for my 54' 3100 Hydramatic. Looking over the truck its sems that Im missing some stuff and not sure what Im missing or what my options are.

First, the shifter indicator needle on the column for the hydramatic is missing. My father was kind enough to send me some pics since the truck is stored 40 miles south of where I live. We are also going to a junk yard Saturday that has nothing but 59' and older cars/trucks so I would like to hopefully find something that will work. I dont know if this was a standard needle/indicator on any other cars. I dont belive I will find a 54' 3100 with a hydramatic in it :-)

Second, Im missing the inside the cab passenger side kick panel cover? that covers the outside vent. I looked and hundreds of pics online to see what actually covers this hole, but it doesnt seem that its a popular shot when taking inside the cab pics.

A good place to start is HERE. I found this INFORMATION that might show you what you are looking for. For parts you might want to post an ad in the TRUCK PARTS WANTED Section, who knows what you can find?

There are a few guys on the 'bolt who have the chevrolet Hydramatic and may be of some help. Those answers can be asked in the CRASH BOX SHOP

Tim Lederman put together INFORMATION and I would think it would be helpful to you to visit. I think Tim may be able to show you a delete panel for your heater too.

Here is a picture of the plate for the kick panel it has two stiffeners formed in it other than that it is a flat plate with rounded corners/6-1/4" holes for screws.

I purchased my pointer on ebay a couple of years ago. There was a guy who seemed to have a few to sell.

Jim Carter sells a reproduction "heater cover plate". However, it looks like it does not have the stiffener ribs in it. You might want to place a Want Ad in the Swap Meet to see if you can find a used one.

Also, place a Want Ad in the Swap Meet for that Hydra-Matic indicator needle. There is a parts seller who frequents the Swap Meet who has in the past posted that needle for sale (and I know he had that needle a few months ago).

I think if you find a similar year car with a powerglide transmission, the shift needle itself will be the same.

Thanks for the info guys! Hopefully I dont come home empty handed tomorrow from the bone yard. Maybe I will find a defroster that I seen in the accessory flyer.
