Yes, it is a gate/door hinge which is attached to the accelerator with a bolt. Old trucks, especially work trucks, have some interesting modifications made to them to keep them on the road. Hey, whatever the link was, it's gone ... I know Husker, I posted a pic of a Big Foot gas pedal saying it makes a change from having one of them,but unfortunately it was an Ebay link, "the powers that be" deleted it as it was linked to sales.( a no-no in the General truck talk forum)

I was kind of expecting glory stories of duct tape, tie wire and red baling string, but okay.... Here's another one from my '37 hick truck. The mud flaps are a canvas belting material.
