The other day I had the hood open with the engine running, and I noticed this rattle sound that would fade in and out. I pinned it down to (i think) the generator.
Where can I get bushings for a 1962 235 generator?

if you grasp the fan blades with the engine stopped, There you go giving away our secrets!  Another diagnostic tool is the longggg screwdriver. Place the tip against the location where you think the sound is and hold the handle to your ear. Works like a stethoscope.

A large group of professionals built the Titanic. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 7 Member | | Member Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 7 | Yeah...the screwdriver idea works real well as long as you are CAREFUL...keep it away from ANYTHING electric...especially the generator...6V will give you quite a RAP, escpecailly if you have it rear your head...watch glasses too...You don't want them to arc weld to your HEAD...
On the brushes, I got mine for my wife's 54 at NAPA, about $2 each...
