got the truck in late April did a litle work on it 4" dual stacks w/rain caps adding new rear tail lights removing wrecker boom prev. owner said eng. was a 327 HP truck eng. it has a 4 sp w/2 sp rearend thinking about making it a traler hauler any thoughts or info would be appreciated

How about submitting some pictures, might be easier to decipher what you have. Maybe give us a few more clues what your going to do. What size trailer? How much will it and load weigh? ect... Don

I would like to get a set of (7) 22.5" wheels for the truck. I have (4) 9R22.5 and (3) 255/80/22.5 tires where would i find them any help would be appreciated 10 lug ,5.25" center hub hole, approx. 9.5" lug circle thanks

If you're talking semi trailer, you need to remove the tow platform and install a 5th wheel plate and mount.

I think all that is feasible is a smaller trailer with electric brakes. To pull a larger trailer, he would need air.

My dad bought a new 67 C50 with a 327 4 speed and 15,000 lb. axle for his new log truck in 1967. He had ordered a C60 with 366 and 5 speed and 17,500 rear end but he got worried about how he would pay for the extra cost. A friend of his ended up taking the C60. I think there was a $2,000 difference, the 50 series was about $3700 if I remember right ( I was 9 years old). The truck before it had been a new 63 GMC with 305 V-6, the 327 would pull the GMC in two. He had driven the GMC 4 years without ever doing anything to the motor. The 327 lasted 2 years and he replaced it with a 350. The biggest thing I ever remember about the truck is how often it would break an axle. We'd always have to go to the woods, after dark usually and it was always in a mud hole when it broke. I've spent many cold nights holding a flashlight for him.
The biggest complaint dad ever had was the brakes. He always said it had the worst brakes of any truck he ever had.

finnally got the boom off the truck, cost: one garage sale sawzall 3/8" thick wall rectangular tubes ,plus 3 heavy duty metal blades. Also scored a gooseneck plate hitch for 40 bucks Have to replace headlights and a couple of fuses. weather is slowing me up on working on it in the driveway hope to get it on the road before april
