61 Fleetside Longbed, original straight six, three on the tree. Geoff Hawkins here, this pickup belonged to my great grandfather who bought it new. My uncle have it to me last weekend, and I trailored it from arizona to california. It was on flats with no battery and 5 year old gas in it. Took it home, threw some tires on it and drained the gas. After a carb clean and rebuild I was driving it around the block. My plans for it to fix the small amount of rust on the corners of the hood and doors, and repaint. I have the moon caps but I need to remove rust from them or paint them. The wood in the bed also needs top be replaced. Also toying with the idea of lowering it. Since this photo I have buffed it out with some rubbing compound which brought the paint back quite a bit. New pics to follow.

NG I am unable to access your link. Congratulations on obtaining your Great Grandpa's truck. I hope you don't lower a truck with such a pedigree, but it is yours and none of my business. Have fun, mine has brought me many, many treasured memories!

I seem to be a little tech challenged when it comes to uploading pics. I tried to follow the directions but that obviously didn't work out so I'll try again. I font think I will end up lowering it but it is tempting!

Little feller is my boy Luke. He's almost two and he loves that truck. Him and his sister like to sit in it while I buff the paint out. If he wants it the truck will be his one day.

Nice truck! And a cute boy, too. Glad to see the next generation of Stovebolters getting an early start. smile

P.S. regarding the link to your webshots. Try logging out of your weshots account. Go to your pics as a visitor, then try to link. That's what I had to do.

Thanks husker and joker for the tech advice. I think I could do it right if I was starting fresh, but I'm not quite sure how to change it on my beginning post. Oh well. I tried to leave the house to go shooting today and my boy flipped out- he thought I was going out to work on the truck without him. I had to promise I'd let him hang out in the truck when I got back before he'd let me go! He loves that truck.

Neptune, if you want, you could go into "My Stuff" at the top of the page. Go to "Edit Profile" in the drop down menu. At the very bottom of the profile is a signature line. You could try to paste the link there. It would then show up on all your posts. Use the info in the link Joker sent you for this as well.

Note though: since your pics are all in one album, all your pics will be available for viewing, if that matters.

And, ditto Rich, that buffing job really made the paint come back to life! Great job! grin
