Front fenders are the same. | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | You have it backwards, 1 1/2 ton front fenders are larger, running boards shorter. 1 1/2 ton and larger do not have rear fenders, exept for the 1 1/2 ton Express trucks from the mid '30s. 1/2 through 1 ton use the same fender front and rear, running boards vary depending on bed type and length.

I have two 1936 1.5 ton Chevrolet Panel Trucks and I use the same rear fenders as the 1.5 ton Open Express. The front clip is the same as the 1/2 ton, of the same year. When I bought the first truck, it only had one rear fender. It took me over a year to finally find a pair, mistakenly purchasing one from a 1/2 ton first. My second truck came with good fenders. The running boards for my 1.5 ton are longer than the 1/2 ton as my wheelbase is 131" compared to 126". Just my two cents worth. I can't speak for any other year, just what is in my storage.

We cannot be certain what year Knedert is referring to, but, assuming it is 1947 Advance-Design, LONGBOX55 is correct.
Things are different between model-to-model characteristics in 1936 vs 1947.
Nonetheless, it is always nice to state the year in a start-off question (probably 30% of questions refer to years not listed in the original poster's signature or profile). Same goes for responses - we should try to qualify the year that our response pertains to.
