The factory assemby manual seems to bear out the fact that this is sealer and not a gasket.
It seems like a fairly firm compund. What are you guys using for this? | | | | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 946 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 946 | No gasket there that I can remember, just sealer. Eastwood's has a seam sealer that can be brushed on or out of a tube. I used it all over my 55.2 cab. | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 424 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 424 | Thanks for the response jomichael.
The seamsealer I'm used to seeing usually has a putty-like consistency.
What I'm seeing on my original fenders is more of a firm rubberized compund. I imagine it's not only to seal the joint but to prevent squeaks as well. | | |
