On my 1958 GMC, when I removed the front fenders there was evidence of a rubber type sealer (not a formed gasket) between the flanges where the fender bolts to the front panel that goes behind the grille. The factory assemby manual seems to bear out the fact that this is sealer and not a gasket.
It seems like a fairly firm compund. What are you guys using for this?
